1.5ＫＷダミーロード（1.5ＫＷ Ｄｕｍｍｙ Ｌｏａｄ）

送信機の調整用に使う疑似空中線（Ｄｕｍｍｙ　Ｌｏａｄ）です。送信機を調整する場合、実際に電波を出しながら調整をするとその周波数近辺で運用中の無線局に混信などの迷惑をかけることになるので調整する場合はアンテナの代わりに疑似空中線（高周波特性に優れた抵抗器でアンテナと同じインピーダンス（Ｉｍｐｅｄａｎｃｅ）を持つ）を使います。送信機の終段出力が500Ｗの場合小さな疑似空中線ではすぐに焼けてしまいます。写真に示すＤｕｍｍｙ　Ｌｏａｄはアメリカの有名なメイカーＭＦＪの物で最大で1.5ＫＷまで耐えられます。と言っても1.5ＫＷも入れると僅か８秒が限度で500Ｗでは３６秒まで耐えられます。３６秒もあれば十分に送信機の調整やテストを行うことが出来ます。

When we adjust a transmitter we have to use a dummy load instead of a real antenna. If we connect the real antenna and adjust the transmitter it will make some interference to another radio stations who are working near the testing frequency. The dummy load has a same electrical characteristics of the antenna so we can adjust the transmitter without transmitting any interference into the air. When we load 1.5KW radio signal to the dummy load the dummy will soon be burned. The tolerance time would be very short for this load only abut 8 seconds. For 500W power it will be OK for about 36 seconds. 36 seconds would be just enough time to adjust and test the transmitter.
