半自動電鍵の試作（A trial making so called Bug Key)

ハムの間ではBug　Key　と呼ばれている半自動電鍵の試作です。線バネを使った方法は失敗でしたが今度は板バネで作ってみました。基本的な構想はOKのようで一応のそれなりの動作はしますがとても実用にはなりません。機械的な音がうるさいのと短点の長さが短すぎるようです。まだまだ多くの改良点があります。市販品を真似て作るのは面白くありませんので自分なりの工夫をして行きたいですね。Bug　Key　と言われるのは当初この方法を開発したVibroprex社の半自動電鍵に虫（Bug）のロゴが付いていたのでBug　Keyと呼ばれるようになったようです。下記は You tube　のURLです。この電鍵の動画をアップしてあります。

I made a semi-automatic morse code keyer so called "Bug Key" among the ham Radio Operaters. The first trial was failed because I used a thn rod sprng but now I used a plate type spring. I think the foundamental idea was OK and i can operate likely as a kind of semi-automatic key, however it is not good for practical use. The dot signal is too short and it makes much mecahnical noise when I operate. It must be greately improved. I do not like to make the key imitating the commercially available key but I want to make key with my own idea. The reason why this key is called "Bug Key" because the first developed key made by Vibroplex company put a logo mark of a bug on it.

Bug Keyの試作見事に失敗(Making a Bug Key completely failed)

かねてからバグキーを作ってみたいと考えていた。線バネで作ったシングルレバー電鍵はうまく出来たので、錘を線バネで吊るしてその振動で短点を送出するように考案した。頭の中の想像的シミュレーションではうまく動作する。しかし実際に作ってみたら見事に失敗だった。
線バネは板バネと違ってあらゆる方向に曲がるので錘の振動も線状の振動にはならずに回転運動のような振動になって短点はうまく出すことができなかった。今度は板バネでやってみよう。バグキーは色々な構造の物があるが、それらを真似するのではなく自分なりの独自のアイデアの物を考えてみたい。

いたずら的な実験（A Plactical Joke but I'm serious !)

SAX はリードを振動させて管体の共鳴周波数により高調波（ハーモニックス）を増幅することで目的の音程を出している。それならリードではなくてもできるんではないかと考えた。リコーダーのような唄口をつけて音を出し、それで演奏できないだろうか？SAXのマウスピースと同じ程度の大きさのリコーダーの唄口（笛）の部分を作って試してみた。唄口単体ではピーピーと良く鳴る。SAXのネックに装着してみたらこれでも良く鳴る。そこで本体に装着してみた。鳴るかな？鳴らないかな？淡い期待と共に吹いてみた。スースー、ヒーヒー、フーフーなーーんにも音が出ない。そこで今度は呼子笛を付けてみた。ネック上ではとても良く鳴る。でも本体に装着するとやはりヒーヒーフーフーでまるでダメだ。笛の音はリードと違って低音の高調波が出ていないようだ。実験結果は見事に失敗だったがとても面白い実験でした。

The Saxophone is played by vibration of a leed installed on a mouse piece. It can be sound by tuning the Sax to its harmonic frequency by selecting the tone valves. I thought Saxcan be played not only by the leed vibration maybe it can be played by the Recorder type Flute.Then I made a recorder type short fluite the size is similar to a mouse piece. It can make a good sound by itself and also inserted situation to the mouse piece, too. So I just expected good sounds on the saxophone and I tried,,,,,,,,,,the sound was only su--su-- fu--fu-- hi--hi-- !! No sound !! then I tried again using a whistle it also make a good sound installing on the neck however, on the Sax it makes no sound just only fu--fu-- su-- su-- ! I think maybe the Recorder and the whistle have no lower harmonic frequencies. The trial were failed But I think I had a good experiences.

父の日のカード（A Card for Father's Day)

私は既に７５歳を過ぎた。大切な友人や趣味の仲間も最近は次々と旅立って逝く。私の２人の娘達も、もう完璧な「おばさん」になって孫たちもズドーーンと大きくなってしまった。最近は趣味のアマチュア無線よりもむしろ音楽活動の方が充実しているように感じる。若かった時よりも音楽が心の中に良く響くように思われる。何故か最近、娘達が幼かった頃の夢を良く見るようになった。手をつないで歩いたり、抱っこしたり、こっちへおいでと手招きする夢。小さな娘が手のひらに乗っている夢も何度かあった。幼かった娘たちの匂いさえ感じる夢もある。先日、父の日のカードをもらったが、また幼い頃の夢をみるであろう。

これは４５年くらい前の写真だろうか？随分若かったなーー！

I have already aged 75 and my school mates , my intimate friends are now passing away.
My two daughters had already glown up as the atypical madams and their children (my grand children) are all grown up they are much taller than I am. My main hobby is the Ham Radio however ham radio activities are shirinking but my music activities are very much substaitial for me.The musics sound deeply in my mind. I don't know why but recently I often dream about my two daughters when they were still very young. I walk with my daughter holding her hand. I hold her in my arms. I beckoned her saying come on come on. It is very strange that sometimes my daughter is very small and she is on my parm. Even in the dream I feel something smell of them. The card for fathers day makes me dream of them again. Oh I was very young the photo shows, it was about 45 years ago !.

バンドソーの切断面の曲がりの原因（The cause of curved cutting line of a Band Saw)

数年前に購入したバンドソー（写真）の切断面が最近どうしても曲がってしまう。ブレードを垂直に保持するベアリングをいくら調整してもブレードによっては外側に曲がったり内側に曲がったりする。垂直にまっすぐ切れるブレード（鋸）もある。そこで購入した輸入商社に出向いて原因を聞いてみた。当初はブレードの品質の問題だと思っていたがそうではなく、いわゆるアサリ（鋸歯の両側に一つおきに鋸歯の目を曲げてある）が左右均等で無いことが原因であった。アサリが大きい方に曲がって行く。手で触ってみるとそれがはっきりと解った。曲がらないブレードのアサリは左右均等であった。人間の手のひらの感度はとても鋭い、だから盲人が点字を素早く読み取ることが出来るのだ。鋸歯が摩耗するとアサリも摩耗するがこの摩耗が左右均等にはならないことがあるようだ。もう一つの要因はブレードの取り付け時の張り（テンション）が弱くて切断時に傾いたことも原因だった。テンションは十分に硬く締め込む必要があったのだ。

真っ直ぐ直線で直角に切れるようになった。

I bought a big Band Saw few years ago. However, recently cutting line is not straight but bend. Some times the cutting line tend to bend onto outside and sometimes bend to inside. I fully adjusted the brade holder but I couldn't improve the line to be straight. So I visited a trading company they imported this Band Saw and I asked the reason why the line tend to bend. First I doubted it would be poor brade quality. But it was not due to the brade quality but it was because of worn set of the brade. Set is so called"ASARI" in Japanese. Saw brade edges are slightly bended outside and inside alternately this is called set or "ASARI" and when the outer set worn the cutting line will tend to bend inside and when the inside set worn the line tend to bend outside. I touched the brade and felt the worn set clearly.  The brade which can cut in straight line the set are all balanced inside and outside. It was very tangible. I thought human's palm sensitivity is very much sensitive that is why blind person can read the braille so rapidly. I understand that when the brade worn the set also worn but some times but both side will not worn equally. And also I had another reason that was the brade tension was not strong enough that is why the set worn in one side.
