桜が満開（Cherry blossoms in full blooming)

戸塚駅近くの粕尾川堤の桜が満開になった。今が一番きれいな時のようだ。明日は雨模様なので早くも散り始めてしまうようです。

Cherry blossoms on the riverside of Kashio are now in full blooming. unfortunately tomorrow will be rainy so the cherry will be soon start to fall.

永久磁石モーター（Parmanent magnet motor)

Ｔｒｅａｄｍｉｌｌ用に使われていた直流電動機が手に入った。これは界磁に永久磁石が使われており、回転子に直流を流すことで回転する。従って電圧を可変することで回転速度が変わり、極性を変えれば回転方向も変えられる。古い手持ちの旋盤は100Ｖの誘導電動機なので回転数が一定のために使いにくいのでかねてよりこの直流モーターが必要だった。しかし、これは高価であり１００００円以上はする。今回手に入ったモーターはパワーも十分あり、回転数を測定するエンコーダーやフライホイールも付いていて送料込みで１３５３円だった。新品に近いほどきれいで、早速動作させてみたら静かに円滑に回転する。これから直流電源を作る必要があるが、電圧可変ではなくＰＷＭ方式にして出力はＩＧＢＴを使う予定である。電圧は最大90Ｖ、電流5.5Ａ、回転数3800ｒｐｍです。

I found a very nice DC motor on Yahoo auction. It was used for Treadmill driver. Parmanent Magnet Field is used then rotating direction can be changed by DC power polar changing and the rotation speed can be also changed by Voltage adjustment.
This motor is equiped with a fly wheel and a encoder for rotation speed measurement.

Usually this kind of motor will cost more than \10000 but it was only \1353 including shipment charge. The maximum voltage is 90V current is 5.5A and speed is 3800rpm.
My old lathe s equiped with a AC 100V induction motor therefore the speed is fixed.
I will replace this induction motor by this DC motor so that the speed is changeable.
When I make a DC power source for this motor I will use IGBT wth PWM control. 

ＳＡＸのリードを良く鳴るようにする方法 その2

ＳＡＸのリードは自然の植物なのでかなりバラツキがあり鳴りにくいリードがあります。そのようなリードは繊維の堅い部分があるので、堅そうな部分をカッターナイフで切りこみを軽く入れます。これでかなり良く鳴るようになります。

The Reed of the Saxophone is made of natural plant called Reed. Therefore the flexibility of the Reed is not even each one. It will greately affect to the playability. I found it is very good to make a Reed soft to be much easy to play. It is just cutting slightly of some hard fibers in the Reed by a cutter knife. It will make a Reed somewhat soft and very easy to play the SAX. Why don't you try it ?

縦振り電鍵「Saxophone」５号機が完成 通算番号７９１号

縦振り電鍵「Ｓａｘｏｐｈｏｎｅ」の５号機が完成した。これはVertical Swingerとも呼ばれる電鍵で手首を縦方向に揺らせて打鍵する昔からのOrthodoxな電鍵です。しかし、このＳａｘｏｐｈｏｎｅにはレバーを貫通する回転軸がありません。燐青銅の僅かな撓みを利用してレバーを動かすようにしています。振れ角は極僅かであり回転軸の必要はありません。また、バネはＳａｘｏｐｈｏｎｅのトーンレバーに使われている線バネの機構を応用しました。全くガタつきがなくしっとりとしたソフトな打鍵フィーリングです。コの字型のダストカバーはバイオレットエッジというアクリル板で太陽光線下では切り口がバイオレット色になります。

Now it has completed the Vertical Swinger named 「Saxophone No.5」　Total number is 791.This is a usual orthdox type used from the beggining of the Morse code history. However, this key has no pivot in the lever. I used a small Phosphor Bronze Copper Plate  instesd of the pivot. Swing angle of the lever is very small therefore no pivot is necessory. The lever can swing due to a very small twisting action of the thin   Phosphor Bronze Copper Plate. I applicated a small lod type spring which is used in mechanism of Saxophone tone lever. This key has a very soft and smooth key action. The dust cover is made of Violet edge acrylic acid plate so the edge will be colored violet under the Sun light.
