変わり型の電鍵「A strange Key」

今日はちょっと変わった電鍵を作ってみました。Ｌ型のアームで水平と垂直で動きます。つまみと接点用のシャフトを同一にして部品点数を減らしました。興味本位の製作でこれは実用性はなさそうです。Woodpeckerと命名しました。写真をクリックすると拡大されます。

I made a strange shaped straight key (Vertical Swiper). The lever is shaped like L letter.The vertical portion will swing back and forth like a woodpecker pecking a tree trunk. The knob and contact shaft are assembled in one part so that to reduce the number of parts.I think this key is not good for practical use but I just enjoyed making this.

２台目を作りました。(I made the second one)

縦振り電鍵の２台目を作りました。今回のは少し小さめですが基本的には同じ構造です。ヒノキの台座のニスはハケ塗りでは綺麗に出来なかったので今回はスプレーで塗りましたが艶が出ませんでした。写真では手前側の小さいのが２台目です。

I made the vertical swiper or I should say a straight key for the second time. The second one is little bit smaller than the first one. But the construction is almost same except the pivot support.

縦振り電鍵が完成「Anew vertical swiper has completed」

新しい型式の縦振り電鍵が完成しました。この形は従来からありましたが私にとっては初めての製作です。木製の台座に搭載し、真鍮部品は全て手作りです。真鍮を磨いてからプライマー塗装をして、その後でクリヤーラッカーを掛けてあります。酸化しないので美しい光沢がいつまでも維持できます。この電鍵はとても美しいので「Aphrodite」と命名しました。

This time I made a vertical swiper. I saw a youtuve movie made by Mr.Jhon Welling and it was very helpful for me how to make this key. And also he answered for my question how to paint to avoid from oxidation. this key will keep good shining for very long time.

研磨機バフの導入（Introducing a polishing machine)

製作している電鍵を研磨して綺麗に仕上げるために研磨機（通称バフ）を導入しました。購入したバフは直径が180ｍｍで軸部の内径が50ｍｍです。軸径が大きいのでアルミの丸棒から旋盤で削りだしてアダプターを作りました。バフは粗目の１番から超鏡面仕上げ用の４番まであります。これに研磨剤（白砥や赤砥）を付けて研磨します。

I bought some polishing disks made of urethane sponge. The size of the polishing disk is 180mm in diameter. However the center hole of the disk is 50mmφ very large. So I made an adapter disk made of alminum and fixed it on the motor shaft shown in the picture. I also bought some polishing compound blocks so called white bar and red bar. Those of white is for ruff polishing and the red one is for final finishing like mirror surface finishing.

新型縦振り電鍵その2（A new type vertical swiperr second stage)

新型の縦振り電鍵の製作工程が一応終了し、あとは真鍮部品の鏡面仕上げとアクリルラッカー塗装及び台座のニス塗りが残っています。底面には1ｍｍ厚のステンレスの板を取り付けます。

My vertical swiper has almost completed. I have to polish all the parts and paint clear lacquer so that to avoid the parts from rusting. I also paint the wooden base with varnish and put a 1mm thick stainless steel panel under the base to make it more heavy.

今までは大理石台座の電鍵ばかりを製作してきましたが今度は木材を台座にした従来のタイプの電鍵を作ってみます。部品は100パーセント手作りの予定です。台座はヒノキを使いルーターで周囲の飾りを付け、濃いめのニスで仕上げます、真鍮部品は表面仕上げの後でラッカーをかけます、これは楽器に使われている方法です。先ずは第一段階の写真を掲載しました。部品を並べた状態です。写真をンクリックすると拡大されます。

I have just started to make a traditional type vertical swiper mounted on a wooden base. Usually I used marble base but this time I will make a base with a Japanese cypress.
The parts for this key must be made by me 100 parcent except a coil spring. I will paint the metal surface with clear lacquer to protect from oxcidation. This coating method is used in the field of musical instrument such as SAX, Trumpet, Trombone,etc.
