ＳＡＸリペアー進行状況その7（ＳＡＸ Ｒｅｐａｉｒ Ｎｏ.7）

サックスの修復作業はかなり進みましたが、やはり特殊な工具が必要になります。これらの特殊工具は大変高価なので作ってみました。トーンレバーの針バネをバネポストに押し込んだり外したりするための工具で市販品は１万円以上ですが、古い不要の工具を使って製作出来ました。

先ず普通の先の比較的細い通称「ヤットコ」と言われている一種のペンチを使って片側に約1.5ｍｍ幅のスリットを付けました。これはとても難しい作業で片側の先端の中央部から慎重に金属用の弓鋸で少しづつ切り込みを入れます。次に1.5ｍｍ幅の薄いヤスリでスリットを綺麗に整形します。反対側はすべり止めの凹みを丸ヤスリで付けました。

写真にもう一つ写っている丸い金属の板はタンポ調整用のヘラです。まだ形状が良くないのでこれから更に形を整えて行きます。

The Sax restoration has making steady progress but I need some special tools. When I remove or insert the needle spring it must be done using a pair of special pliers so called pinch in Japanes language but it is very expensive costs more than ten thousand yen. Then I made this tool by modifying an old tool "YATTOKO" as shown in the picture. It was very much difficult to make a slit on the top of the pinch. First I cut the slit by small saw and made the slit in good shape by a thin file. The round shaped thin plate behind the pinch is another special tool to adjust the pads. I have to meke it in more good shape.
