小型パドル「Ｌａｋｅ Ｌｏｕｉｓｅ」

小型のパドル「Ｌａｋｅ　Ｌｏｕｉｓｅ」です。これもステインレススティールを台座にしていますが、前の「Ｖｉｃｔｏｒｉａ」よりさらに小型にしました。ダストカバーは付けない予定でしたが希望があったのでカバーを付けてみました。

This is a small sized paddle " Lake Louise". I also used a small sized stainless steel base to make a small paddle. It is much more smaller than the former pddle Victoria. I didn't designed this key with a dust cover but I was requested to make a dust cover for this key. So I made a small dust cover for this key.

シングルレバーのWhite Eagle が完成

シングルレバーのパドルとして当初は設計した電鍵は往復電鍵としての人気が高かったので往復電鍵（複式電鍵とも言う）にして左右の電極を短絡して製作してきたが、シングルレバーを希望する人がいたのでシングルレバーパドルを作りました。指当て板もダストカバーも従来とは趣を変えて華やかな色合いにしました。

I have been made this ”White Eagle" as a swinger for many years even it was designed as a single lever paddle. Because most peaople want this key as the swinger. I short cicuited both terminal to be a swinger but now I made this key as a single lever paddle as a  person requested me to make a single lever paddle for him. I used red colored finger plates and a orange colored dust cover to make the key more gorgeously.

ボランティアで演奏

昨日は茅ヶ崎にある介護施設「そよ風」というところでＳａｗ　Ｍｕｓｉｃやマトリョーミン（電子楽器）の人達と一緒にボランティア演奏をしてきました。約３０人ほどの人達がいました。ムーンライトセレナーデ、夜霧よ今夜もありがとう、帰り船それに帰れソレントへの４曲を演奏しました。

さすがにお年寄には昭和２１年にヒットした帰り船はかなり受けた様子でした。

Yesterday we played musics in day care center named "SOYOKAZE"as the bolunteer players. Tow ladies played saw music and electronic device music named"MATORYOMIN" and I played Saxophone.There were about 30 people in the center and I played"Monn light serenade, What a wouderful world, YOGIRIYO KONYAMO ARIGATOU,  KAERIFUNE. and Torna a sorrento．As might have been expected the Kaerifune was the most pupular among them the old persons as the song was the best hit in 1945.

台座にステインレスを用いたパドル（A paddle mounted on a stainless base)

台座にステインレスを用いたパドルをしばらくぶりで作りました。この台座にすると小型で重量があり安定したパドルが出来ます。また大理石ベースは落とすと壊れやすいけれどステンレスは丈夫なので野外運用などにも向いています。

For a very long time I have not been making a paddle using a stainless steel base. I can make a very heavy small sized paddle using the stainless steel base. The paddle made of a marble stone will be soon damaged when dropped but the paddle using the steel is very tough so it is very good for use in outdoor operation.

縦振り電鍵「Ｈｅｌｉｏｓ」が完成（Straight keys Helios completed)

縦振り電鍵「Ｈｅｌｉｏｓ」が２台完成しました。この電鍵は打鍵の音が非常に静かで接点には燐青銅板（0.4ｍｍ）と先端を尖らせた接点用の調節ネジが付いています。通称はエリクセン型のストレートキーです。製作するのは非常に大変ですが完成してみるととても満足の出来る電鍵になりました。
モールス信号による通信は１５０年ほど前に発明された方法ですが最近のアマチュア無線の愛好家（ハム）の間ではこの通信方法が再燃しています。今や世界中のハム仲間がモールスで交信しています。ＩＴが進んだ世の中なので逆にこのようなレトロな通信が見直されているようです。話せば５分で終わる内容も３０分近くかけて　－・－・　－－・－　などとやっているのです。！！

The two straight keys 「Ｈｅｌｉｏｓ」have completed. The sound when operating this key is very quiet. I used a thin plate of phosphorus copper for the contact point. Usually this type of straight key is called Elicsen as the contact point is placed on the ｔｏｐ of the key.
The other side of the contact point is a sharpened pivot.  It is a very hard work to make this key but I am so saticefied with this key. The Morse code was invented about 150 years ago and now the communication using the Morse code is revived among the Ham Radio Operators not only in Japan but in the whole world. IT has greately advanced that resulted in to reexamine the old nostalgic method even it takes more than 30 minutes for the very short message for only about five minutes when spoken in voice communication. 

ドナーファミリーの集い（Donor Family's Day)

１０月１０日体育の日に東京霞が関にあるイイノホールでドナーファミリーの集いがありました。これは角膜を提供された方のご遺族や角膜を受けて移植した人達及び医療関係者が交流をするイベントです。私は今回レシピエント（角膜を受けて移植した人）として集いに招かれました。遺族の方にお礼の言葉を述べるとともに日頃練習しているサックスを３曲ほど披露しました。角膜を移植したことで楽譜が見えるようになりサックスの演奏が出来るようになったからです。他にもハワイアンのグループが演奏を披露しました。

秋のお茶摘み体験（Experiencing tea leaf picking in Autumn)

秋の３番茶のお茶摘み体験をしてきました。１０月１日（土）横浜発午前７時の東海道線で熱海へ行きそこから伊豆急に乗り換えて長岡まで行き、５０分ほど歩いて茶畑に着きました。ここは有名な韮山の反射炉のすぐ近くです。このグループはＧＴＴ（Good Time Trekkers)というグループでアメリカ人と日本人で構成されており、日本人は英会話を楽しみ外国人は日本の観光などを楽しむことが出来ます。この日は生憎の小雨でしたが温室の中でお茶摘みをしました。男女ともに絣の着物に着替えてたすきがけをし手ぬぐいをかぶるとそれなりに様になったようです。みなさんとっても楽しかったようです。この後食事をしてから反射炉を見学しました。(写真の掲載については承諾を得てあります）

We went to Nagaoka in Izu peninsula to enjoy young tea leaf picking. The good season for tea leaf picking is mid in spring but we can also enjoy in Autumn, too. It was on Oct. 1st and we started Yokohama station at 7 in the morning. We transfered to Izu kyu line at Atami and got off at Nagaoka. We walked for about 50 minutes to tea farm. It was rainy but very comfortable cool day so we just enjoyed walking.  The tea farm is located in very near to the famous Nirayama reverberatory furnace. This group is named GTT(Good Time Trekkers), we Japanese can sutudy English conversation and Americans can enjoy tour in Japan. We changed our cloth into Kasuri Kimono with tie to back up Kimono sleeves so the outlook is almost the profesional tea leaf pickers. We enjoyed picking in a big green house because it was rainy. After we had lunch we sutudied the reverberatory furnace by observation.( the Americans agreed to put the pictures on my blog)
