ストレートキー（Ｈｅｌｉｏｓ） Ｎｏ.1005号が完成

縦振り電鍵「ストレートキー」通算製作番号　Ｎｏ.1005号が完成しました。接点が前方にあって厚みが0.4ｍｍの燐青銅板がレバーの先端についており上側の接点は尖らせてあります。バネは0.8ｍｍのステンレス線ノバネを使っています。軸の部分は１０φのベアリングをツｋ手６φの軸が貫通しています。打鍵音が非常に静かです。真鍮は酸化すると色が悪くなるので先ずピカピカに磨いてから塗装の食いつきが良くなるようにプライマー処理をしてからクリアーラッカーをかけてあります。台座は南洋産のパドックという硬くて比較的重たい木材を使っています。

A straight key [Helios]No.1005 has completed.The contact point is located at the top og the key. A 0.4mm thick phosphorus copper plate is fixed at the top of the lever and the upper contact shaft is sharpened. I used a 0.8mm stainless steel spring. I put two small bearings to support a shaft. Operating sound is very quiet. After I shined the brass parts I treated primary coating to make the lquer paint well fixed to prevebnt rusting the parts. The base wood is a hard and rather heavy one imported from the south seas.

アルトサックス２機種の比較(Comparison of two alt saxophones)

YAS-62

MINERVA

ＹＡＭＡＨＡの中級クラスのアルトサックス(YAS-62）と安物の島村楽器のMINERVAとを比較してみました。YAMAHAのはゴールドラッカー仕上げでMINERVAは管体がシルバー塗装でキーはクロームメッキのようです。MINERVAは若干キーが重い感じですが演奏性にはあまり影響は感じません。キーのストロークもYAS-62と比べて同じ程度です。MINERVAはHigh F#のキーがサイドキーにとても近い位置に付けられており普段は６２を使っている私にはちょっと使いずらい感じがあります。しかし練れれば問題は無さそうです。たぶんこれは奏者の好みによるものではないかと思います。YAMAHAの純正のMP4Cを使って吹いた結果では６２の方がマイルドな音でMINERVAは硬い感じの明瞭な音です。

結論としてあまりそん色は感じられず、普段の練習用には十分だと思いました。

価格はMINERVAは比較にならないほど安価です。

I compared two saxophones such as YAMAHA YAS-62 and MINERVA of Shimamura Gakki. The YAS-62 is a middle class one and the MINERVA is a bigginer class one. YAS-62 is a gold laquer painted and MINERVA is a silver metalic painted. I thought the key action of MINERVA is somewhat heavy than YAS-62 but I don't feel any problem for playing it. The key strokes are almost same in both saxophones however. the highF# key of MINERVA is located very near to the side keyes so it was rather difficult to operate for me. But I think the key location will be depending on each players taste so I think I will be soon get used to operate it. The sound of YAS-62 is mild and MINERVA's sound is sharp and clear feeling. Any way there were no big deferences between them MINERVA is just good enough to use it for practicing. The cost of MINERVA is very cheap so it is not good to compare the cost. 

アルトサックスのネックの止めネジ(A neck screw)

アルトサックスのネックの止めネジを変更すると吹奏感が変わるらしいので試しに作ってみました。通常のネジは指をかける部分は平たい形状ですが、15ｍｍφの真鍮丸棒を旋盤で加工して作ったので指で回す部分は１５φと大きくなり滑り止めのローレット加工をしました。

試しに吹いてみましたところ、音が力強くなりコントロールがしやすくなった感じです。

I heard that a neck screw is very sensitive for easiness of blowing(playing) saxophone. So i made a neck screw just imitating a sample screw photograph. I made a screw using my lathe from a 15mm thick brass. The blowing easiness is somewhat improved but it was not so clear. I want make it again. .

多機能エレキー（正弦波モニター付き）

多機能エレキー「Multi-Purpose Ele-Key」です。これは乾電池３本の他にＡＣ100Ｖの電源でも動作するようにしてあります。このエレキーの特徴は往復電鍵「複式電鍵」を使って打鍵すると符号がネバッた感じとなって聴きにくい符号になり、特に速い速度で打鍵するとネバリの傾向が著しくなりますが、このエレキーを通して打鍵しますとあたかもエレキーで打っているようなきれいな符号が送出できます。またストレートキーを通してモニターをしたり、パドルを使ってＢｕｇ－Ｋｅｙのモードで打つこともできます。書き込みができるメモリーが付いていて何度でも書き換えができます。キー出力は300Ｖ耐圧のフォトカップラーなので真空管式送信機の深い負のバイアスも制御出来ます。今までのエレキーはモニター音は4ＭＨｚのセラロックの周波数を分周した方形波の音でしたがこのエレキーでは専用の正弦波発振回路と低周波パワーアンプを付けました。周波数も約500Ｈｚから1100Ｈｚ程度までパネルのＶＲで可変できるので自分の好みに合った綺麗な純音でモニターが出来ます。ＣＷの送信練習には非常に良いと思います。もちろん音量もパネル面のＶＲで可変出来ます。ＣＷの送信練習に役立ちます。

This is a multi-Purpose Electronic Keyer. It can work in dry cell battery power and AC100V power. The most unique point is this can reduce the sticky sound of the morse code transmitted by a swinger key. The monitor sound is generated in sign wave oscillator so it is very good tone for monitoring the code. The out put circuit is constructed using a highly insulated (300V) photo coupler so it can control vaccuum tubed transmitter.The tone can be adjusted from 500Hz to 1100Hz so it is very confortable to monitor the code.

角膜移植手術の前後の比較(Cornea Transplantation)

私が角膜移植手術を受けたのが既に２８年も前のことです。角膜が濁っていた時は視力がとても悪く本を読むことが出来なくなっていました。小学校低学年の頃から徐々に角膜が濁ってきて５０歳ごろには視力が0.2程度になってしまいました。市川市にある東京歯科大学市川総合病院の眼科を紹介されて島崎先生に移植手術をしていただきました。その結果視力が1.0までに回復し人生が劇的に変化しました。道路を走っている車は全て洗車したばかりのピカピカに見え、お店に並ぶ商品の色の鮮やかさに驚嘆しました。何よりも楽譜が見えるようになったのでサックスのレッスンを始めることが出来ました。

手術前後の写真（左目）を紹介します。手術前後の説明の必要はないでしょう！右目も移植していただきました。

見事に透明になっています。この角膜はアメリカ人からのものです、アメリカから空輸されてきた角膜です。夢の中で鏡を見ている自分の顔が黒人でした。黒人の視力はすごいですね。マサイ族などは5.0だとか！ビルの屋上から道路にある新聞が読めるとか！

About 28 years ago I had cornea transplantation on my both eyes.My cornea had became muddy when I was a elementary school boy. And gradually getting cloudy. When I aged about 50 I couldn't read newspapers. The vision was about 0.2 so it was very hard to work in the company.  Ichikawa general hospital ophthalmology was introduced to me and famous doctor Shimazaki did the cornea transplantation on my both eyes. After the surgery I can see the things very well. I thought all cars running on the road looks just after washed. Every colorful goods look very shining and beautiful I was so moved.I was very happy because I can read the musical notes then I started to practice playing saxophones. It is not necessary to explain "before and after" as you can clearly understand them. The cornea became very transpalent after the transplantation. The cornea were imported from America by aipplane transportation. In my dream when i was seeing my face in a miller my face was black as if I am a black skinned person. The vision of the black skinned person is very sharp. The Massai people have vishon of 5.0 and they can read news paper put on first floor (road) standing from the top of the building.      

ベルを使った打楽器

昨年のクリスマスパーティーで使った小型のベルの楽器です。当初は一つ一つをそれぞれの人が持ってベルの演奏のように音階の担当ごとにならして演奏しますが、このやり方は慣れないととても難しいですね。元々が余興用のおもちゃみたいな物で終わったら捨ててしまう程度の物ですが、もったいないのでこれを音階順に並べて取り付けました。音階は１オクターブしかなくて半音もありませんが簡単な曲は演奏が出来ます。

比較のためキーボードの上に載せてみました。

パソコンと比べるとこのような大きさです。棒で叩いて演奏します。

Last year in December we had a Christmas party. In this party a hostess prepared a toy bells for entertainment. Eight person hold the bell for each C,D,E,F,G,A,B to make a one octave scale. They have to hit each bell according to musical note, however, it was very difficult to play music in well timing. It was almost absurd Ha Ha Ha ! The bells after we enjoyed will be abandoned so I collected them and put the eight bells on a wooden bar to make a musical instrument. it has only eight tones and no half tones but AI think we can play some easy musics.
