ストレートキー「縦振り電鍵」の製作

久しぶりにストレートキー「通称は縦振り電鍵」を作りました。これは製作依頼があって作ったものです。この電鍵は「Aphrodite,,,ギリシャ神話の女神」と命名してあります。台座はアフリカンパドックと言う赤味の木目が綺麗な木材です。電鍵の構造は一般的な昔からのスタイルの電鍵で打鍵時はカチカチと音をたてます。マニアの中にはこの音が大事だという人もいますが、人それぞれに意見はまちまちです。底面には1.5ｍｍのゴムシートを挟んでステンレスの板を取り付け、その上に4ヶ所、シリコンゴムのざを付けてあります。これは摩擦係数が高いので机上でピタッと安定します。つまみは樹脂製ではなく黒檀にしてほしいということなので縞黒檀で作りました。重量感のあるとても良い電鍵が出来ました。

I made a straight key after a long time. In Japanese we say "a vertical swinging key". For this series of key I named 「Aphrodite」which is the greece mythical name of a goddess. I made this because I was asked to make this one. I used a piece of wood called "African padock" this is a red colored beautiful wood. The construction of this key is a commonly used type  from many years ago. It makes a good noise as "kachi kachi" when we operate this key. Some one says this sound is very important for CW operation, however people have so many opinions each has different ones. I inserted a 1.5mm thick rubber sheet between base wood and a stainless panel under the base. And I put four silicon seats on the panel. This silicon has a very strong friction so the key is very stable on the desk to operate. I was asked to make the knob not plastic but ebony so I made the knob of ebony wood. The key became finally a weightiness good one.
