小学生の夏休み課題研究（ラヂオの製作）お手伝い(Helping Home Work of primary school boy of my nephew)

甥っ子の息子の小学６年生の夏休み課題研究としてラヂオを作る事にしたそうです。ラヂオの組み立てキットを買ったので始めたけれど難しいので教えて欲しいと言う事でお父さんの車で一緒に来ました。見てみると半田付けが所謂イモハンダでNGです。そこで半田付けの極意を伝授することにしました。半田付けは糊で接着するような感覚ではなく、半田付けをする部分を良く加熱してその熱で半田が熔けて融着するという感覚でやります。その為には”鏝先、半田あと、半田先、鏝あと”です。これは先ず鏝を先に部品に当てて充分加熱してそれから半田をそこに供給し、半田が熔けて流れたら半田の棒を外し、それから鏝を離す”と言う意味です。これを先ず教えてから私は手を出さず自分ですべてやってもらいました。とても手先が器用で半田も非常にしっかりと溶着しています。ラヂオのキットは部品票に番号が付いていて、手順書にも作業の順番と取り付け部品の番号が付いていました。大型のラヂオ用ICを使ったAMとFMの２バンドのラヂオでキットはとても良く考えられている製品でした。ついでに抵抗器のカラーコードの味方と覚え方も教えました。手順通りに作業が終わった後でいよいよ電源を入れる時が来ました。緊張の面持ちでスイッチを入れたら一発でタヂオが鳴りました！とても嬉しそうでした。これで素晴らしい夏休みの研究報告書が書けるでしょう。！

My nephew asked me to help his son's home work for this summer vacation.His son is 6 year grade of primary school. he wants to make a portable radion for his home work theme but it is rather difficult for him to assmble the radio for first time. He came to my home by a car driven by his father. First I checked his soldering work but it was not good. I tought him how to solder with the soldering gun I mean the innermost secrets. Which is "First put the soldering gun to the parts then put the solder to the parts then leave the solder and finally leave the gun. It is very important to heat the parts enough before put the solder to the parts.First I showed him how to do and then I made the boy to do all things by himself. The radio kit was very well made. All parts are well arranged in the assemblig procedure with numbers are printed according to the procedure. The radio is made of a big IC and can receive AM and FM band. I also tought him how to read and how to memorize the color code of resisters. After the all work had done he was nervous to swtch on for the fisrt time and the radio made a big sound of music ! He was very happy and I think he will make a nice report for his home work of summer vacation. 

半田吸い取り機（バキューム式）の修理 Repairing a solder absorber(Vacuum type)

ある人から古い半田吸い取り機を頂きました。この機械は電子基板などの半田付け作業の際に余分についてしまった半田や基板から部品を取り外す際に半田を溶かしてから真空ポンプで吸い取るための機械です。長年放置してあったとのことでダイアフラム式の真空ポンプのゴム製のバルブは完全に劣化して固まっていました。また吸い取り用ガンの後部に付ける真空用ビニールホースを差し込むプラグ（エンドキャップ）が欠品していました。バルブは1ｍｍ厚のシリコンゴム板で作る予定ですが手持ちが無いので書類用ホルダーのシートを加工して仮の弁を作りました。またエンドキャップはジュラコンの丸棒を旋盤で加工して作りました。その結果、充分な真空が得られて半田の吸い取りも完璧に出来るようになりました。後は錆びたネジを新しく交換し、黄色く変色したホースを新品に交換します。

I got a very old solder absorber(Vacuum type).This is used for absorbing an excess solder on the electric circuit or to take way the solder to remove the parts on the board by melt the solder and absorb it by vacuum. The valve made of rubber sheet was completely damaged and became harden due to very long time leaving. The end caps of the aborbing gun to connect the vacuum hose were missing. I'm going to make the valve using a thin silicon sheet but I don't have it now so I made the valve using a vinyl sheet temporarily. And I made the end caps using plastic material cutting by my small desk top lathe. Finally I got a enough vacuum and very nice solder absorbing operation. I will soon replace the rust screws and old vacuum hose with new ones

珍しい花束

昨日は珍しい花束をお土産に頂きました。はじめは普通の造花だと思っていましたが香りが良くて奇麗なので良く見たら何と材料が石鹸で出来ている花でした。着色や香りを付けるのは石鹸なので良く出来るのだと思います。硬めの石鹸なので触った感じではプラスチックのようです。大変めずらしい物だと思いました。

When my two friends visited my home last day it was July 31st. They brought a bouque for my wife. I thought it was a kind of an artificial flower but I finally noticed that it was a flower made of sabao, which is called soap in English. It would be very nice to put a good fragrance and beautiful color as it is made of soap. I thought it was a plastic material as I felt it was rather hard. Anyway the flower is an out of the ordinary thing.
